Tuesday

Okay, it is FREEZING here today. It is still October and it was below freezing this morning. We had flurries on Sunday and that makes me angry - I am already looking forward to spring. Luckily I have my birthday and the holidays coming up. January through April are going to be tough months as they are saying that this winter will be worse than last - and last winter was bad!!

No exercise to log today. I am working 8 hours and then I have a 4-hour computer class tonight. I am getting a few 10-minute walks in to get my heart-rate up b/c that's all I have time for today.

Food Log:
Fresh Juice: 2 oranges, 2 apples, 1 cup pineapple
Lite soy milk w/ chocolate protein powder
Cup of broccoli/cheese soup, bagel w/ lettuce, tomato, green pepper & honey mustard
2 spring rolls w/ cabbage, sprouts, cucumber, carrot & avocado. YUMMY!
3 pieces chocolate w/ toffee

Friday!

TGIF! It is a cold, rainy Friday and I am excited for the weekend. I am finally feeling better and look forward to a great time with the Kinney Wedding Festivities - Rehearsal tonight and ceremony tomorrow. I'm running low on groceries so here is what I made do with today:

Bowl of Honey Cluster Cereal w/ almonds & cherries w/ lite soy milk
3 soft shell tacos w/ beans, lettuce, guac & pico courtesy of Chipotle
Bun w/ tomato, cheese & ketchup, potato salad & baked beans
4 Vodka/Sprites

Thursday

Still feel kindof weird today - I must have a touch of the flu. I hope I'm not sick b/c I have a fun weekend planned - Sarah is getting married on Saturday and tomorrow night is the rehearsal. I get to be David's beard and I can't wait!

Since I have no energy I didn't exercise today, but here is what I ate:

1/4 cup Kung Pao Tofu
Banana
Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli
Large glass of lite soy milk w/ protein powder
Handful of Doritos
3 pieces Tombstone Cheese Pizza

Wednesday

I feel like I am getting sick - nauseaus, dizzy and tired, but I am hungry! Luckily I am not exercising today so hopefully I will feel better soon. Here is what I ate today:

Fresh Juice: 2 apples, 2 oranges
Banana
1/9 of a piece of brownie
Very small potato w/ salsa & 1 scoop avocado
Tropical fruit cup
Lite soy milk w/ protein powder
Few bites of Kung Pao Tofu from the Coop
Grilled cheese sandwich w/ steak fries

Spinach salad w/ veggies, garbanzo, sunflower seeds, 1 hard-boiled egg, green olives, parm & EVOO

Moanday


Best day ever! I got to meet one of my FAVORITE authors today. Laura Caldwell was speaking in my office building so I got to listen to her and talk to her for awhile. She is so cool and very down to earth. I can't wait to read her 3 new books that come out next summer!

Today is the 2nd day that I did my workout from my trainer. Is it normal to want to vomit while doing lunges?

5 pieces of Whopper candy

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

As much as I love the weekends, I'm not a fan of Sundays. I think I dread Mondays so much that it has an effect on my Sundays. Oh well. I am super sore today from my first workout. My butt hurts. My shoulders hurt. My chest hurts. My thighs hurt. Muscles that I didn't even know that I have hurt. I guess this is a good thing. Due to the pain I didn't do much today...

Walked 30 minutes on the treadmill. 50 crunches.

2 eggs scrambled w/ 1 piece ww toast w/ jelly.

Game Day!

Go Hawks! Iowa plays Wisconsin today. As much as I love the Hawks, I may be rooting for Wisconsin a bit. I know - what the hell am I thinking? Well, the 'Sconi coach is an old friend and his team hasn't been doing too good lately.

Today's food & exercise log:
Holy shit! I did my first workout from my trainer and it was hard! It involved a lot of exercises to work on my core and I am exhausted. My thighs are still on fire from the lunges!!

TGIF

I hired a myptdirect personal trainer today and I can't wait to get started on the workouts! I am so clueless when it comes to what I should be doing at the gym. My trainer has been awesome and I love that I can call him or email him with any of my questions.

"Thursday. The third day" -Joey Tribiani

Man, I am still sore from the yoga class that I took on Tuesday night. It was a hard class but it feels so good once I get through it. It was a crazy day today with an unexpected trip to a nearby town to visit the SuperTarget, otherwise known as my Mecca. :) I heard from the honeymooners today and it sounds like they are in heaven - I am quite jealous...

25 minute walk (I was pressed for time today so I took a quick spin around the block)

Pinkie Down!

Well, last night I had my first injury and it wasn't a sore knee or a twisted ankle. No, that would be too normal. My first injury was a Wusthof injury - I sliced the end of my pinkie finger while making my dinner last night. It was quite messy, it wouldn't stop bleeding and I couldn't stop laughing. As Kelly knows, I always manage to slice myself when using nice knives. One would think that I would be more careful or use duller knives, but there is just something amazing about a using a nice knife. I can't explain it but I feel like a better cook when I have a nice knife. Maybe I should start wearing mesh gloves... :)

The Wedding

So, my baby sister got married this past weekend and it was one of the funnest times ever! We had family and friends in from all over the country and we had such a wonderful time. I haven't laughed so hard and smiled so much in a long time! All of the preparation was well worth it and their wedding couldn't have been more beautiful.

It got me thinking about my single status. I have been single for quite some time and never really thought twice about it. I have dated a bit but was never really concerned with "finding the one". I figured that if it happened, it happened. Well, seeing how happy my sister was made me realize that I do want that for myself. I need to get out more often and meet more people (which can be hard in the town that I live in). So, in order to have the confidence to do that, I am starting my kick-ass lifestyle change. It starts with spending more time in the gym and keeping this blog. I figured that if I could post it here then I would be more successful. Time will tell but I haven't been this excited about the future in a long time...
